1989 J Boats J/44
The J/44 has been called the best dual purpose sailboat over 40' ever built. Race one design with an average of 5 or more J/44's on the starting line, race at 30 PHRF, race to Bermuda, or cruise anywhere comfortably with a couple or a family. This is what the J/44 was designed to do and that is just what she has done.
Charlie V is equipped for both racing & cruising. She is a Bermuda Race veteran and actively races in the J/44 One Design Class. One design sail ownership will transfer with the boat as will a 16' Haulmark enclosed gear trailer.
All deck hardware re-bedded fall 2020. New Doyle Stratis Mainsail 2016. New Yanmar engine in 2012. Racing set of sails in excellent condition - used less than 10 days.

CHARLIE V was generously donated to the SUNY Maritime College Sailing Team in 2017. She has been sailed actively and maintained by Maritime College. She is in need of cosmetic work and some updating, but is an excellent value. It is very hard to find this caliber of boat at this price point that is so well suited to one design racing (Very active class on Long Island Sound with one design sails), Offshore racing and is still an excellent cruising boat.
CHARLIE V is a great opportunity to own one of the best all around dual purpose boats at a discount!
