The Hinckley Bermuda 40 is an iconic boat that has been turning heads for decades. POLARIS is that rare boat that was taken care of by an owner than was willing to spend unlimited funds to make her as perfect as possible. She was surveyed by a well known Hinckley surveyor in the spring of 2022 and came through with flying colors. The current owner has continued the care of the last owner and is now moving on to a larger boat. POLARIS is a great opportunity for the Hinckley enthusiast.

Vessel Overview

The Bermuda 40 has been described in print by so many admirers - I will not bore you with further adulations. However, POLARIS is, by far, one of the finest Bermuda 40's afloat.

Her care and condition will stand up to the most careful scrutiny and, once you have inspected her for yourself, I believe you will agree that she is simply fantastic.

Of course, there are different flavors of Bermuda 40's and this one needs to be for you. A Mk III version, yawl rig, mahogany interior and twin pilot berths are the basic parameters. But she goes well beyond this.

Only three owners since new - the current owner has had her just two (2) years and is moving on to a larger boat. She lived mostly on the Chesapeake, coming to Stonington a few years ago. All owners lavished her with proper care. She is (and really always has been) in fine form - fully awgripped hull and deck - she shines and looks really sharp (and will for years). Her teak is in perfect condition.

She has a Yanmar diesel, properly maintained, and the entire engine room looks clean, tidy and well organized. She has a recent Balmar high output alternator, with a remote voltage regulator. The pulley system was upgraded with
Balmar machined serpentine pulley's and a serpentine belt - a significant upgrade.
The interior looks as good as the exterior - no flaws, renewed upholstery, etc., etc., etc. She also has Marine Air air-conditioning (reverse cycle) and a propane heater.
And to make maneuvering around the docks perfectly simple, a Vetus bow thruster was installed just five years ago, and she has a max prop.

There are many Bermuda 40's that have been refurbished and look great, but they are never as good as a boat that has been kept in new boat condition her whole life. You can always tell the difference and with POLARIS
